At the onset of the bike segment, most athletes take a deep breath because one leg of the race is now finished. However, the bike portion is by far the most challenging part of the triathlon. Biking, on its own, can be grueling with wind and uneven road surfaces to conquer, but try racing while pulling another human being — that adds a big twist. We worry about the adaptive athletes’ safety, if they are positioned adequately, if they’re having fun, etc. I can proudly say that through all of the races I’ve done, my triathlon partners have always ridden along with beaming smiles. These smiles are what keep me going.

Life Relation
At this point, life seems to be steady. There’s still much of the journey left, but you get a sense of peace knowing that you’ve gotten this far, and if you keep pushing, you can get through it.
